October 2013 General Conference

I have a fun app on my phone called RhonnaDesigns (thanks Nicha {my attempt at a nickname for Nicole--fail})
So there's a trend where fancy people choose their favorite conference quotes and make them cute. Since I love quotes, cute things, and graphic design, I used my phone to make my own! (Except then afterwards I realized I can do the same thing on my iPad which is WAY easier hahahahaha woops)

This one is not my favorite at all. But I love the quote. Will redo this quote for sure-and I won't do it at 2am while laying in bed :)

Perhaps I will make more when I get some time. Conference had lots of good quotes. I haven't even finished watching/reading it all yet either.

Photoshop Brushes

someone is complaining that i haven't posted anything so here are some pictures (some old, some new). i bought 8 Photoshop brushes and overlays yesterday for only $4. i've used some of the brushes on these pictures...i haven't gotten the overlays to work quite right yet. if you want to know where i got these brushes you can ask, i'll have to look it up and i don't want to right this minute.

What a DIVA

i am an amazing sister....really amazing. sometimes i can't even believe how generous i am to my brothers. for instance, last weekend i took some more of my brother ty's senior pictures. we went down to fairhaven and walked along the train tracks, stood by big beams and sat on logs. all of this traipsing around for over an hour and my favorite picture ended up being one sitting in the car waiting for shelley. without any prompting from me, ty got out my sunglasses, took my necklace off my mirror and put both items on and leaned back. well i couldn't pass this up so i grabed my camera before he realized it and took a bunch of pictures.


then since i am such an amazing sister i went above and beyond my duties and made him a digital scrapbook page. i know, i am too generous.


haha he would probably poke my eyes out if he saw this.

Bobo

Here is another digital layout, i'm telling you it is so much eaiser...and WAY less clean-up making digital pages. i'm not in love with this page, i just like the picture effects. i used a mask, some light tricks and some eye tricks. maybe i'll just use the picture and make another better page this weekend. BTW, i may be posting a lot this weekend, or not at all we're going to have to see. if i post a lot that means i'm acually getting stuff done so that would be good.


well i'm off to pack. and sleep i'm SO tired all of a sudden, it's not even 10pm yet. weird.

CS3 Fund-Raiser

Since i'm little miss update all the time i thought i'd post a little digital scrapbook page. ummm ya, if i had photoshop Cs3 i would be all over just digital scrapbooking...since all i have is stupid elements (which gets some of the job done) i do what i can. if anyone would like to contribute to the, "Amanda Needs CS3" fund, just let me know. i only need about $650 plus another $200 to get some neat add-ins...so everyone should get on that.

miss mary take 2

it's funny when i first got on this "blog bandwagon" i had so much stuff i wanted to post on here and i wanted to post it all at once, but i refrained and only did once a day. now it's hard work posting on here. first i have to to downstairs and get motivated...then i have to actually make something and complete it then drag out my camera and try to get a good picture of it...and finally after who knows how long i get it on here. it's a lot of work. but i do like it i just don't post as much as i probably should. tonight i made a 10 minute digital page for Mary's first birthday. digital scrap booking is WAY more convenient...no mess afterwards, all my pictures are on my computer so i don't have to print them, i can crop them to any size and i can do all this on my lap. AMAZING. seriously i double dog dare anyone who hasn't tried it to try it. a couple websites are, The Shabby Princess and Two Peas that you can get free downloads. for twopeas, you have to sign up, but it's fast and easy. they have REALLY cute kits and they're perfect if you're just starting out because they cost nothing. so no more rambling here is the page for mary. i'm not too impressed with what i did but it's still a post!

i made this page today for mary. i made her this dress a couple years ago and found some pics i took of her in it and i decided it was worthy of a scrapbook page.

Digital Card

i decided if i can make digital scrapbook pages, i can make digital cards (which would be WAY easier to print than 12x12 pages) here is the first offical card made in photoshop!wootwoot.

i've been enjoying my new digital SB kits and so far i haven't really made any serious pages that i plan to do anything with, just experimenting. tonight i've made a couple other ones, i'm not too thrilled with them. what i really need to do is go out and take some new pictures so i can make some serious pages that i can do something with. there is so much you can do with digital scrapbooking and i'm excited to get more into it i'm just not in the mood now. i really need to get excited about it so until i get some good pics. we'll just practice.

this is kenyan right after he was born. for his baby announcement we used the picture of his feet and under it wrote, "our family has grown by 2 feet" it was really cute if i do say so myself.

Perfect Day

Like i said in my last post, i've made another digital page tonight...it's going to get bad soon. so i'm on my newer laptop and so i don't have any of my old pics. on this one, and i'm out of range to get on the home network to access my other pic. folders so i had just a few pics to choose from. i didn't take this picture!!!! just FYI i think it's really cute but i found it online to use for this page. i'm going to replace it with a real picture just as soon as i can get onto another computer.

digital scrapbooking = my new life.

I am completly, totally, 100% obsessed. Today i found an amazing website, it's http://www.shabbyprincess.com/ they have all sorts of FREE digital scrapbooking kits and paper. i've never really done digital scrapbooking but i think i'm going to start now! this paper rivals the paper you buy for 79 cents a sheet and the kits you pay up to $30 for. i know not all kits and things are free, but when you first start out, it's perfect. i've played around with it just a little bit so far, i've made some new blog headers and one page, i haven't really had too much time since i downloaded everything this morning. so here is the first page i made, hopefully it will work. it's not perfect, i just used pics. i had on my computer and did it fairly quickly.

these are pics. i took of my cousins one day when i babysat, we had a "photoshoot" before i took them to school and again after i picked them up. we went to a couple parks around town. i really need to play with it some more and get some other pics. so that's all for now. i'm sure tonight when i get back i'll continue where i left off.
